Are You Using a Proven Planning System to Create Success in Your Business?
If you're self-employed, a solo entrepreneur or home-based business owner, you could be losing thousands of dollars if you're not setting goals and implementing a plan to achieve them.
According to Dictionary.com, an entrepreneur is a person who organizes and manages any enterprise, especially a business, usually with considerable initiative and risk. How does an entrepreneur go about managing and organizing? How does an entrepreneur minimize risk? By setting goals, of course!
I speak with entrepreneurs every day. Much of my work is with solo entrepreneurs (often called solopreneurs) and home-based business owners. Often when I pose the question, "What do you want your business – and your life – to look like one year from now?," I get a blank stare. Many entrepreneurs fall off the goal setting wagon right there – before they even get started – because they don't have clarity about what they really want. As an entrepreneur, there's one thing you must know before you embark on your goal setting journey. You must know where you’re headed, the target you want to reach. Before you set a single goal, you must have a destination. Here’s why: If you went into your garage, got in your car, and backed out of your driveway, but didn’t know where you were going, what would happen? What if you didn’t know whether you wanted to go to Miami or Malibu? You could end up in the middle of nowhere. You must have a destination. What would happen if you went to Grand Central Station in New York, walked up to the ticket counter and said “I’d like a ticket, please”? The ticket agent would ask where you wanted to go. It’s plain and simple: “If you don’t know where you’re going, any road will take you there.” …and you may end up someplace you don’t want to be. You must have clarity on where you're headed. I realize it's easier said than done. Creating a vision of where you want to be 12 months from now can be quite a challenge for some. I use a proven process to help you create that vision of your business – and your life. Creating your future vision is only the first step in the goal setting process. With your vision in front of you, the next step is to create the goals that will make your vision a reality. You then create a plan to achieve those goals and finally, you implement your plan, one step at a time. Simple? Yes. Easy? Not always. That's where I can help. I use a proven goal planning and implementation system in my work with solo entrepreneurs.
