To Achieve Your Goals, Replace Complaining With Action

Immense Action = Goal Achievement

I’m on my high horse today and here’s why: when people aren’t achieving their dreams, very often the reason why is they’re not taking action.  They’re standing still.  They’re sitting around complaining about their lives, but not doing anything about it.

This may be you and it may not. If you’re a goal achiever, you know the only place success comes before work is in the dictionary. You know achieving your goals takes immense action.  If you’re an action-taker, my hat is off to you. On the other hand, if you’re someone who’s not achieving his/her goals, please keep an open mind and read on.

Do you waste time? I know that’s an “in-your-face” question, but it’s one I must ask – and one you must answer for yourself. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t fritter away a little bit of time here and there, but if goal achievement is eluding you, if your dreams are falling by the wayside, take a good hard look at your day. I’ll bet you find you waste time either doing nothing, or doing things that will not put you on the road to success.

Look around you and you’ll see goal achievers are always in action. They don’t sit around wondering why they’re not achieving their goals. They don’t sit around complaining about their lives.

There’s a simple process you can follow to achieve your goals. The first step in the process requires that you dream.  That’s right. Dream about your life one year from now, or 5 years from now. What is it that you really, really want? I call this Step Zero, and I believe it’s the most important step in the goal setting process. If you don’t know what you want, you can’t pursue it. Once you figure out what you want, you create the goals to get there and then you must take action to achieve those goals.

Break your goals down into monthly, weekly and daily actions. Start your day – every day- by reading through your annual goals list, then read through your monthly goals list, then your weekly actions list. (This takes less than 2 minutes.) Make your “to-do” list for the day, then get into action.

Bottom line – the only way you’ll achieve your dreams is by getting into action.
